Learning / Courses

“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.”
― Dr. Seuss, I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!

When starting a new business, there is so much to learn.  The best learning is done when it is needed.  A timely course or article can save hours and help the business become more profitable.

What courses are useful to you, will depend on what type of business you have and what you are currently working on in your business.

So with the plethora or courses available how do you choose which courses to do?  Here’s my checklist of things to consider when making a decision.

  • Is it something that would be helpful for your business now (if not leave it until later)
  • Is the course presenter well regarded in the field?
  • How do you learn?  So you learn best from books, videos or audio?  Is the course a good ‘fit’ for you?
  • How long do you have access to the course material?
  • Does the course come with recommendations from others or sites that you trust?
  • Is there a community / forum as part of the course or is it independent learning?
  • What level is the course – beginners, intermediate or advanced.  Does the course cater for all levels?
  • Are you able to understand the instructor and are they clear in what they do?
  • What is the cost of the course?  Is it good value for money?
